Thank you my brother in King Jesus.
Thank you. I replace the top work perfect but in my ge French doors has small fan in the left side i replace but don't work. Some help please thanks.
Sir! You are a steely eyed missile man, YES YOU ARE!
Do you only replace the one side?
You can just do the one side. The other one went out on mine shortly after, so replacing both of them at the same time may be a good idea.
Gonna look into picking up one of these for my family. My neighbors dog keeps messing up my driveway so this might do the trick. Thanks!
Yep this should clean up that problem!
Awesome video that helped us to DIY - now praying that was the problem and we start to see the temperature go down!
You should be good to go!
I find your video easy to understand. My GE fridge is almost identical except for the controls. If I can find the model number could you please help me find the right part so I can try to fix it? I’m in Hartly, Delaware been putting it off for some time. Thank you.
Yes, the standard fan will fit most of these GE models. There is a model number in the description that you can check for compatibility.
@@ljschuby99 the model is GFE28GSKJSS and serial #VL511307 is there any other type of information needed for the fan part? It is a GE French door fridge with bottom pull out freezer Omgh looking forward to trying to fix it so I can have normal food and milk lasting longer that only 3 days. You are a lifesaver!
The fan part number is WR60X26866 . You can find it in Amazon or GE appliance parts site. Good luck with the repair!
@@ljschuby99 it’s working!! Was no ice on the coils. Part came today and I just finished putting it all back together!! Thank you so very much you are a God send. I pray God blesses you and your family abundantly overflowing!!
Thanks so much - glad you got it working again!
this video helped me fix my frig 2 years ago and now it's helping me again, thanks a lot!!!!
Did it go out again?!?
@@ljschuby99 yes, and we just bought this frig in 2018 new from Lowe's...
Two years ago I followed your instructions and replaced the evaporator fan (thank you). The cooling problem was solved with a new fan but right after that I noticed ice started building under the vegetable drawers. Any ideas what to do about correcting it?
It could be frozen drain tubes. You could take off the back cover and insect to see if anything looks frozen. Sometimes thawing that out will fix the water/condensation draining problem. Also, I know it sounds crazy, but I have heard of the fans going bad again. Even an intermittent fan issue could cause a problem like this. So, if nothing else that may be a relatively cheap replacement fix to see if it takes care of the ice under the tray.
@@ljschuby99 Thank you for the suggestions, appreciate it. I’m going to try all of those ideas.
That's exactly our issue
New fan should take care of your problem then. The fans now do not require the software update, so you should be good to go after replacing it. Good luck!
I want to let you know I really appreciate you posting this video. It was a lifesaver for me. Our dryer has been out for almost a week and even though it’s under warranty through Speed Queen we still have yet to receive a call from the repairman to come take a look! With your video I was able to get an element that I bought off Amazon replaced in just a few minutes. Thank you so much!
Great to hear - glad you got it fixed!
Saved a few hundred dollars thanks to your video! My fridge was nearly the same but had a slightly different design than yours in the video. Mine had a button that you can press that changes the temp in the crisper and has a second smaller fan inside of a big styrofoam housing. I was worried when I found it that it might have been the cause of the problem. But after I swapped the larger center fan, by the next morning, the fridge was cold! My thanks to you!!!
Great to hear - glad you got it fixed!
Just got the fan but do you need to do the software update didn't come with modul
The new fans now do not require the software update. Just install and you are ready to go.
I ordered the fan for less than $20 from Amazon & followed your steps to replace it. The fridge was cool in no time. The other issue I was having is no water being dispensed. That has not resolved as of yet. Any thoughts?
Glad you got it fixed. The water lines could have been frozen, so that may resolve itself soon.
I ordered the new part you said but I received part# WR 60X 10356, will this part work without the software update? Do you know?
Yes, that fan should work fine. The new units shipping now do not require the software update.
Thank you!!!! This was very very helpful!!
Great - glad it helped!
Does the same apply for right hand drive e90s ? Obviously I would spray the other direction but is the blower motor always located on the passenger side ? Thanks
Thanks! No telling what the rental car company would've charged for this! Big help, this video.
Nice work!
Works on F25 X3 35i
Good to know, thanks. This is good stuff. The one application is all that it has needed so far.
I’m glad I found this video. I’m having the same issue so I hope this will solve it. I’ll let you know if this was the right fix! (Praying it is so I can do it myself. Can’t afford a repairman)
The new fan should fix it - good luck!
Very helpful video, thank you for posting. We had the fan replaced once already at a cost of $400 so I'm glad to give it a try on my own this time. You show the software (upgrade?) at the end and I'm just curious does this have to be ordered separate or will the fan come with that addition? There are a variety of choices when I look for the part and it makes me think that the more expensive ones will have that software? Any additional insight is greatly appreciated.
The specs were changed and the replacement fans no longer require the software upgrade, so you will be fine to swap it out without needing the software change.
The replacement went very smoothly but unfortunately did not solve the cooling problem. Still troubleshooting.
Thanks for the video. What if the evaporator fan works just fine? Top of fridge isn’t getting as cool, bottom deli drawer is freezing, water dispenser is freezing and won’t dispense. Do I need to replace the deli drawer fan? Or is it another issue?
The evaporator fan may be working intermittently and causing the issue, so it still may be worth replacing the fan to fix the problem.
@@ljschuby99 ok I’ll give that a try thank you.
Thank you man! Super helpful for a beginner like myself
Thanks - good luck with the fix!
Thank you. Found the switches in local store and installed them in less than 15 minutes.
Glad you got them fixed!
I need to know what to do about my Aliance dryer has a d5 & 4 error code
6.5 years after you posted this video and it's still valuable to helping people! The steps aren't exactly the same on my GFD28GELCDS, but close enough for me to get the repair done myself for a fraction of the cost of a repair person. Hopefully commenting keeps this video up high in Google search results. I'll also add that all the nuts I had to remove were 1/4"; maybe that'll save someone a few steps back and forth to the toolbox.
So, it was indeed the fan…the old one had seized and my symptoms were identical to the one in your video. However, I didn’t get any cable for performing a software update. Is this essential?
Glad you got it fixed! No, the software update is not required anymore with the new fans.
@@ljschuby99 Thank you for your prompt reply. I’m happy to report that a scant 12 hours later the freezer now sits at a perfect 0, and the fridge at 39… I’m not sure it’s ever been this perfect as I seem to recall cleaning ice from under the deli drawer since we first got the fridge new from a scratch and dent vendor. I must thank you for your fabulous video. Clear, concise, accurate, and reassuring. I’ve been empowered by the experience and I’m sure everyone who hears me boast of this successful venture is a bit bored of it. For the record, I’m a middle aged single mom with a college degree in a World Language and had little training or experience with engineering or technical skills. Your work here is very deeply appreciated. By many, I see.🤟☮️
Nice work! Glad you got it fixed. Who knows what new project will you tackle next!
Super helpful! I was able to change mine out today in about a half hour! Thanks for the great video!
Glad it helped!
Thank you for putting this together. Really helpful. Glad to know I don't have to get a software update.
Yes the software update will not be necessary. Good luck!
😂😂 wrong info, water heating with heating element. There is only cold water going to inlet valve
When I changed my fan just like this, it did not come with a cord and update box, and it never worked any better than the original
Where are you guys buying the part? On Amazon they are more expensive.
Awesome! right to the point. Thank you so much.
Glad it was helpful!
Is this a good dryer? Thinking of buying a used one.
Yes! This was the only issue ever had with it. Does a great job.
Thank you so much. Directions were spot on and saved us a lot of money. Total repair took 40 minutes from start to finish!
That’s great - Glad you got it fixed!
Besides running the hot water before starting the cycle, put the pod in the flatware caddy. It will dissolve partially in the pre-wash cycle and fully dissolve in the main wash. Your dishes will come out clean. Furthermore, you won't have that heavy perfume scent lingering on your dishes. Just try this once. But yes, always run the hot water faucet til ripping hot then immediately start the machine. Delay Cycle is not your best friend.
That’s a great idea!
Don't throw the pod on the floor of the dishwasher. Put it in the flatware caddy. Try it once. I think you'll be pleased.@@ljschuby99
I started doing the same thing. We have hard water (minerals) and that may impact the whole process. I'm not sure. But the pod in the flatware trick seems to help.
What's the part number? Passenger side?
There are several options for the mirrors, with and without puddle lights and signal lights. The new OEM part number for the right side heated mirror with the puddle lights and signal light is 87910-35c01. The previous number is 87910-35c00. You may also find them on Amz under either number. Just be sure to get the one with the options that you need for your model.
Simple and easy to understand, thank you!
Great - hope you have the 4Runner looking good.
Glad I found this video. Any advice?? I purchased a GE Profile french door refrigerator in Feb 2023. In September, it started making an annoyingly loud buzzing sound. I've had GE replace the evaporator fan twice, under warranty. The same noise persists. You can hear the fan kick on and spin up to speed. The noise it makes has the sound/frequency of a big commercial wood chipper being used by someone down the street. It's hard to have a conversation at the kitchen table. When I bang on the plastic evaporator cover, the noise stops for a few seconds...then resumes. Anyone have an idea how this can be fixed? Do I need to add some damping material somewhere on the back panel of the fridge, tighten the condenser assembly, anything?!!! It's enough to cause me dump this unit and go with another brand. Sorry for the long-winded comment.
You could remove the fan from the housing, get it to turn on and see if it still makes the noise. If it is still making noise, you could try an aftermarket fan to see if it works better. If not, you could start looking at the housing to see if it is too tight and putting too much pressure on the fan as it spins.
@@ljschuby99 Thanks for the idea to isolate the fan. I'll report back.
Idk i think you needed to mix the dye in, for as long as it sat that dye shouldve dispersed through the whole tank. Your method in theory should work but your execution was faulty. You can see around wihere water would possibly leak from was clear. Gotta mix the shit in with the gravy
Thanks!!!
Glad it helped!
Hi, thanks so much for the video. Our water bill has been $100-$200 more than normal for 4 months, and we thought it was our built-in sprinkler system, but we stopped using it and the bills still high. I did this test and one of our upstairs toilets had the dye in the bowl this morning after putting the drops in last night. This toilet had leaked before, but I'd hear the fill valve running all the time and and it stopped doing so when I replaced the flapper not that long ago. And while the bowl had die, most of the dye was still in the tank, and after turned the water off to that toilet, the tank was still full (with water and dye) hours later - the water level was not discernably less. The fill valve is old and probably needs replacement, but I don't see how that would put dye from the tank into the bowl? Perhaps is the gasket and not the flapper? But if so, why didn't I hear the fill valve running extra (before I turned the water off)? Is there anything else it could be? Thanks in advance for any help!
It would probably be good to swap out the valve just to make sure there are no small leaks in that toilet. Also, you could test to see if there is a leak outside in the service line. This is the water line that runs from the meter in the yard to the main shutoff bin your house. A good way to test for this is to turn the water off at the main house entrance, then check the water meter to see if it is still moving. If it is, there is a leak in the service line. A small leak here can be a big problem. I have a video on how to do this: ruclips.net/video/X8vyx4n9f6Y/видео.htmlsi=vY-P2YWe1rFSQulO Also, the water company may be able to check this if you need help.
Thanks a bunch. Saved me $ and allowed me to DIY.
Great to hear - glad you got it fixed!
Thanks for the info, it will be an easier job than expected hopefully my local speed queen dear has one in stock.
Good luck - you will have it good as new!
Amazing.
How didn't you see the water in the yard
Great video! I’m going to give it a shot!
It worked - mine is still good after the one treatment.
Do you have to unplug the refrigerator before replacing the fan?
Yes, it is a good idea to unplug before doing it.
Thank you for posting this @ljschuby99. Super helpful.
Thanks - glad it helped!
Wow! Why bother. Now that you have filled the panel full of holes and scratched the sht out of it, you still dont have windows?
